Large Global Telecommunications Firm

Brief scope of the project
A prominent telecommunications conglomerate came to us with a project to help them provide a multi-platform, scalable television set-top device to its customers. The device originally only supported one chipset platform, therefore limiting its compatibility with 3rd party solutions and service providers.

What tools did we use to accomplish the project?
Using the latest embedded code structures, Java, and innovative software development expertise, we developed a robust set of tools that allow the client to quickly support a wide variety of protocols and chipsets. Our programmers and analysts used YOCTO, a newly developed highly functional Linux based tool to enable functionality of embedded software that is independent of the underlying architecture of the embedded hardware.

What was the business impact?
The result of the on-going 6-year project is a great success. The client is now able to support 17 chipset platforms, multiple software vendors, HDR, 4K and multiple WiFi versions. Customer satisfaction numbers continue to rise and the client has seen a 45% increase in revenue tied to this product enhancement.
